A Dessert from the Middle Ages: coffee, lemon and black pepper


2 eggs, 70 grams of sugar, 20 grams of ground coffee, 30 grams of flour, 40 grams of butter, 240 grams of white chocolate, 80 grams of strawberry jam, lemon cream 80 grams, 5 grams of cinnamon, 100 grams of cream, black pepper along. Jam, fresh mint and strawberries to decorate.

During the important banquets in the Middle Ages spices were used to close the meal but not only because the spices were a symbol of wealth, imported from distant countries or because they were rare and expensive foods and they accounted for a status of the host, but because their taste special, unusual and strong exudes extremely stimulating and enjoyable even when the diner is full.

The following dessert is a variation of stimulating sensations that stand out against a background of important white chocolate.

The combination of coffee and lemon aroma is very pleasant and lively and fascinating cinnamon perfectly balances the strong taste and harmonious long pepper that, mixed with your favorite jam, is a kind of brand new room.

The freshness of mint and strawberry flavors are the perfect complement for a dessert from the Arabian Nights.

Melt in a water bath 40 grams of white chocolate with butter, coffee and cinnamon. Meanwhile mounted the eggs with the sugar, add the sifted flour and the contents of the double boiler, mix well so that it is a homogeneous mixture, let sit for 15 minutes and then pour into a greased and floured baking sheet and bake in oven 190 degrees for about half an hour.

To prepare the cover, melt the white chocolate in a double boiler with the remaining cream and mix thoroughly. Sprinkle one side of the plate with a little ‘long pepper, draw a strip with jam, lying beside the cake frosted, decorated the pot with a locking line of mint and a strawberry.
